5 films for single feminists to celebrate freedom this valentine’s day

February 14th, the Valentine’s Day might be a bit weird day for some feminists. It won’t be wrong to claim that the feminists mostly love to stay single, if possible, forever. The reason is apparent; they just love freedom; freedom is their valentine. On this context, given below are top movies recommended for feminists, especially those are single, to celebrate this valentine day. Indeed, the movies would make them happier, feel inspiring, optimistic, and above all, happier.

Queen:

Nothing more is required to say when a female centric movie casts Kangana Ranaut in lead; she is sure to have a blast. Well, Queen is a special movie. Kangana portraying a small town girl, betrayed in marriage, her expedition to an new country, etc, can’t really be made any better. Anyway, credit must be given to the director Vikas Bahl as well for taking the character to its core level in a very typical way.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns:

Another Kangana Ranaut movie in the list! This is a favourite of many feminists in India. I think Kangana has explored her inner feminist to the core in the movie. The movie has some absolutely epic dialogues and hilarious sequences. To be specific, “Hum thode bewafa kya huye, apt oh badtameez ban gaye”, is simply whistle blower. The movie directed by Anand L Rai is a must watch.

Highway:

Highway is so far the best movie Alia Bhatt has done; from qualitative point of views. Imtiaz Ali’s keen observation, portrayal, creativity, and screenplay make it even awesome. Patriarchy and lust can’t really be shown in more naturalistic fashion than this. Alia doing it at her early stage of careen is indeed commendable.

Pink:

2016 social courtroom thriller Pink has immense lessons for the contemporary society. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chawudhury, this movie has all reasons to be applauded. This is the reason that the movie earned moolah, despite releasing during a phase when even top rank actors were failing in box office. Be it about Taapsee or mega star Amitabh, everyone is simply amazing in the movie.

Jab We Met:

Well, feminism is not about the perception of being male haters. Rather, it’s about feeling the freedom, breaking the barriers, and being against the patriarchal society. All these things have been phenomenally presented in the movie. Needless is to mention Kareena gives another reason why she is called one of the finest actresses in India, through this movie. Her performance was simply fan-making. How can one forget Shahid Kapoor; he was too adorable and his chemistry with Kareena was evident. After all, it’s an Imtiaz Ali movie. Who knows it better than Imtiaz to cook romance! The movie created sensation in box office, and concreted the career of Shahid, Kareena, and moreover, of Imtiaz Ali.
