It won’t be wrong to call Vidya Balan a bohemian. Keeping hits and flops aside, this actress has set a unique standard for her. She can be called the pioneer of women-centric trend in tinsel town. Instead of dying for a trimmed body, Vidya set a new definition of attractiveness. She has her own identity. Now every actress believes that her career can be uplifted only through a women-centric film or a solo lead movie, the trend of which was started by Vidya. The best part about Vidya Balan has been her choice of scripts; she must be doing a lot of hard work in selecting the stories.
Anyway, the actress is up for adding one more page in her career of uniqueness. Reportedly, she is going to portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. After a light-hearted flick like ‘Tumhari Sulu’ Vidya has found something too intense as a subject. The film is going to be made by her husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Well, it’s nothing sure yet whether the movie will be complete film or a web series.
Anyway, the movie (or web series) is going to be made based reporter Sagarika Ghose’s book “Indira: The most powerful Prime Minister. Sagarika looks quite excited about the project as well. She has in fact tweeted about the same. Well, good news is that the shooting of the movie is going to commence very soon.
Just signed the contract for movie rights for my book "Indira, India's Most Powerful PM" with @vidya_balan and @roykapurfilms! Utterly elated!! Look fwd to seeing INDIRA on screen! @juggernautbooks #IndiraTheMovie

Not just Ghose, Vidya too looks quite excited about the project. She calls it her toughest role so far, and is very happy to grab the opportunity. Vidya said to a leading daily- “I am happy to have acquired the rights to Sagarika Ghose’s Indira because I have always wanted to play Indira Gandhi. I haven’t decided yet whether it should be a film or a web series, but that will take a while anyway”. At the same time, she has also said that there nothing has been confirmed, whether it will be biopic or a web series.
Ghose’s book has some interesting mentions about Indira Gandhi. Talking about the reviews, different groups of experts, historians, etc had different opinions. Whatsoever, it is sure that the book is having the perfect elements that are required for making a movie. To be specific, the untold stories about her failed relationship/marriage, her unstable relationship with Sanjay Gandhi, and moreover, the reason behind she declaring emergency (which is stated to be the worst phase of Indian politics), etc, are sure to provide needful elements to keep audience intact with the sit.
Well, this will not be the first time for a movie to be made on Indira Gandhi. Actress Supriya Vinod has also portrayed the role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s political drama “Indu Sarkar”. Interestingly, the same actress had portrayed the same role in another movie called Yashwantrao Chavan.
So, are you guys waiting for the movie? If yes, it is here to mention that the movie might release by July-August this year itself. You have to wait for that little period.
