If reports are believed, Telugu star Allu Arjun will be debuting in Bollywood with the Ranveer Singh starrer ’83’.
Allu Arjun will reportedly be portraying the role of explosive opening batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth in the film.
It means after Dulquer Salmaan, another superstar from Tollywood is going to make his Bollywood debut with ’83’, which is based on India’s historic 1983 Cricket World Cup win at Lords, London. The film will be directed by Kabir Khan. Ranveer Singh will play Kapil Dev, the skipper of India in that 1983 world cup victory of India, that is said to be the first step of cricket revolution in the nation.
Allu Arjun’s last release was ‘Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India’ released on May 4, 2018, was also released in Tamil and did well at the box office. Allu Arjun played a soldier in ‘Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India’, for which he had to undergo special training in the US. This Vakkantham Vamsi directorial also starred prominent names like Anu Emmanuel, Arjun Sarja, Sarath Kumar, Nadhiya, Vennela Kishore and Boman Irani.
Allu Arjun is gearing up for his Tamil debut as well with filmmaker Vikram K Kumar. Reports say that Allu will also be starring alongside Samantha Akenini for a flick to be directed by Kumar.
For ’83’, Ranveer is said to get trained by the protagonist himself- the legendary Kapil Dev. The former cricketer will shift to Mumbai for a week to train Ranveer. Along with cricket action, Ranveer will learn about Kapil’s body language as well. Specifically, Ranveer will get training for the out swingers. Ranveer has to train for one month at least before the film gets on floors by the month of December. ’83’ is all set to release in August 2019.
