Post completion of Aanand L Rai’s Zero, Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly given his dates for Salute, the hugely hyped biopic of Rakesh Sharma, the first and only Indian to travel to space. It will be directed by Mahesh Mathai
SRK will start his preparation for the film in September and will be continually shoot till late November, according to Mumbai Mirror. Post completion of first schedule, he will be busy promoting Zero along with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, and will resume the shoot for Salute after that.
Salute will mostly focus on Rakesh Sharma’s quest in being part of Soyuz T-11, a Soviet rocket used on 2 April, 1984 as part of the Inter cosmos program. After reaching outer space with Commander Yury Malyshev and Flight Engineer Gennadi Strekalov , during a television conference , upon being asked how India looked from space, he replaied saying, “Saare Jahan Se Achha”.
Reportedly, makers of Salute are aiming for a 2019 release. On the other hand, SRK’s Zero is going to hit the screens on 21 December, 2018.
