The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King:

No need to introduce about it. This epic adventure film has been written and directed by Peter Jackson. It is based on the second and third edition of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings”. This final installment of the trilogy has bagged 11 Oscars in various categories.
It bagged the academy awards in following categories:

Titanic:

The movie written, directed, and co-produced by James Cameron is certainly the greatest love story ever made in the history of cinema. The film holds the same level of charm even today. It’s not really hard to find it in the list of most Oscar winning movies. Including the two best awards, under the category of Best Picture and Best Director for Cameron, the movie bagged other nine awards in Original Dramatic Score, Art Direction, Make-Up, Costume Design, Film Editing, Visual Effects, Sound, Sound Effects Editing, and Original Song for Celine Dion’s ear-wormy pop ballad “My Heart Will Go On.”

Ben-Hur (1959):

This big budget film takes the level of technology and special effect to an altogether new high. It’s the first film to win eleven Oscars. Along with the envious award for Best Picture, the movie bagged Academy Awards for Best Director, Art Direction, Cinematography, Costume Design, Special Effects, Film Editing, Sound Recording and Music. In acting, Charlton Heston won Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Hugh Griffith won Best Actor in a Supporting Role. William Wyler has directed the movie, produced by Sam Zimbalist.

West Side Story (1961)

It bagged 10 Oscars at the 34th Academy Awards, in the categories of background score, music, editing, costume designing, cinematography, art direction, including best picture, best supporting actor (George Chakiris), Best supporting actress (Rita Moreno), and best director (Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins).

The English Patient (1996)

The English Patient bagged 9 Oscars in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director ( Anthony Minghella), Best Supporting Actress ( Juliette Binoche),Best Art Direction, Costume, Cinematography, Film Editing, and Original Score.

Gigi (1958)

Gigi has won 9 Academy awards in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director (Vincente Minelli), Art Direction, Costume Design, Original Score, Original Song, Cinematography, Film Editing and Adapted Screenplay.

The Last Emperor (1987):

The Last Emperor too gets a place in the list of most Oscar winning movies having 9 awards in 60th Academy Awards. It bagged the awards in the categories of Best Picture and Best Director, Art Direction, Costume Design, Cinematography, Original Score, Sound, Film Editing and Adapted Screenplay.
